Rainy Day Mixtape

Man, this mix really has everything. soundtracks, hip hop, techno, exotica, blues harmonica, women crying, that song you heard in the supermarket one time? If you've got cabin fever this is a sure fire way to set your mind straight, (more likely really send you over the edge.) Its a full 90 min cassette, so hold on to your hat you will get wet.

about 10 copies were made.  So enjoy the Mp3s.

Jellyy – Demo

  1. Blacked Out
  2. Night Swim
  3. Seaweed Garden
  4. Straight to the Dome

Demo of the defunct LA band Jellyy. Recorded in 2014, and unfortunately never saw the light of day. Tracks 1 and 2 appeared on their "Doomed"  cassette. Which was limited to 100 copies and disappeared quickly. The band members have all moved on to other projects and compiled here is the original demo in its entirety, with artwork by Carlos at CMRTYZ. Recommended for fans of Nu-Garage and Oh Sees style psych.

This band was the evolution/reincarnation of an earlier instrumental 'surf-punk' outfit Sandy Pussy. The songs contained here are more in the heavy psych mold, but uptempo with an strong surf influence. This one is download only.

Behavior / Maxwell Genders Split

Behavior have spent several years refining their blend No Wave tinged hardcore. The music stands apart from the rest by  being simultaneously raw and detached. Dissonant guitars are met with catchy hooks, it partly pays tribute to raw-punk and power-violence, and on the other hand makes nods to Wire and VU. Bedros Yeretzian's vocals sound as if he swallowed a raccoon and he's screaming to let it out, but the lyrics are strangely voyeuristic, removed and poetic. The band is a powerful one and this cassette is definitely a banger. They have recently released a full length on Iron Lung records.

Maxwell Genders is a southern  california native doing down tempo electronics. The two tracks contained here flirt with Sci-Fi and 80s soundtrack sounds, as well as field recordings and dreamy abstract synths. Highly recommended for getting lost driving around LA.

We made 250 of this cassette, we have about 50 left and then its gone forever, except maybe some copies available at behavior shows. The cassette artwork was drawn by Behavior bassist Justin and printed on risograph  with the help of Golden Spike press.

Personal Best – Loaf of Bread Rising

How does one describe their own projects? I don't know but probably not like this...

"Sloppy, poker-faced indie punk with clean, mathy guitars. Pavement meets Slint, perhaps. From L.A., possibly broken up, definitely recorded in a metal pail. –Chris Terry (squidrecords.com)"  -Razorcake
